I had a breast reduction and lift on September 27, 2023, and the procedure was surprisingly almost painless. Prior to the surgery, 1 day before and the morning of surgery you have to wash with hibiclens antiseptic soap. You only wash the area that the doctor will be operating. I went to Memorial west hospital to have labs done the day before surgery. The day of surgery, I had to check into the hospital 2 hours before my surgery time. One of the nurses started an IV, and introduce me to the team of nurses and doctors. The nurse asked me wipe my entire body using theses large warm wipes; My surgery took about 2 hours; After the surgery, I was in very little pain. This was my very first surgery ever. My pain right after surgery when I woke up was at a 2 on a scale of 1-10. I never took the pain killers that the doctor prescribed to me. I followed all orders of Dr. Morales; such as no lifting 10lbs or more, no walking, no lifting your arms above your head, no stretching, and he advised to use soaps like (Dove) when showering. I believe I was able to shower the 2nd day after surgery. I’m not going to lie, I was a little scared to wash my chest area, because I thought that I would make it worst. Well if you don’t wash your chest area pretty good, you can start to develop a fungus called yeast. This fungus grow in warm moist environments, and you really don’t want to complicate your healing process; Which is why it’s important to wash yourself thoroughly while in the shower, and dry off completely. If you need to lay down on the bed naked for a few minutes to completely dry I highly recommend. I was in a 36DDD. At times, I would be at a F cup depending on the store Dr. Morales took me down to a 36 C.
Difficulties:
It was very difficult driving, due to all of the bumps and pot hole in the road. The first week it was very difficult showering and washing your backside, and also washing your hair. I highly recommend washing and styling your hair the day before surgery.
1 Week F/U appointment:
My first week follow up appointment went well. Dr. Morales and his beautiful nurse took their time with me and answered all of the questions that I had as it pertain to my healing process. They also informed me that I was healing looked really good, and my recovery is going well. Dr. Morales and his nurse removed the 4 stitches that I had. This was a little painful. Once the stitches were removed I still felt the pain later on that day.
1 month F/U appointment:
Dr. Morales and his nurse examined me, and started to removed the surgical glue that I still had over the incision. Once the glue was removed from my nipples, they just began to itch a lot. The doctor advised to rub some baby oil or bio oil on the areas where some of the glue was to lift up the remaining glue. The doctor also recommended the scaring cream that he sells in his office to place on the scars to reduce scarring. Once again the doctor complimented how fast and well my recovery is going.
My next F/U appointment is in January of 2024, which will be my 4 month F/U appointment. Overall, I’m so thrilled would the surgery. Dr. Morales is a miracle worker!!!! He made me feel comfortable from the moment I spoke with him during my consultation. He actively listens to your needs and concerns, and he invites you to ask him whatever questions you have. Dr. Morales and my husband hit it off from the moment they saw one another. They talked about the Dolphins, UM, and the heat. Both my husband and Dr. Morales are huge fans of the U and the Dolphins! Dr. Morales was soo amazing that my husband also wants to write a review. His staff is very pleasant, professional, and sweet. I highly recommend Dr. Morales. He is truly the BEST that has ever did it. He’s board certified, and has been practicing for 30 years plus. Ohh by the way. He looks super young too, one of the most down to earth doctors I have ever came in contact with. Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed at all. Dr. Morales you definitely exceeded my expectations!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A PHENOMENAL JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!
